Ladies, Please remember to have a mammogram!! I have heard so many women
say, "Well, I found a lump but it does not hurt, so it is ok." This is so
erroneous. I, personally, had pain in my breast--and it was malignant. I lost my
left breast in August of 2001. Since I am on blood clotting medication they
could not give me radiation or chemotherapy or medications for it. So I am
living day to day by the Grace of God. The surgeon says he thought he got it
all...it was early stage! Praise the Lord for that!
Cancer..what a horrible thing to deal with. It affects you mentally,
physically, emotionally and spiritually. Just remember we have a Lord that will
walk you through it, giving you strength and comfort.
There are many people that have a lot of decisions to make and believe me
they truly need the Lord to make these decisions. Do you have surgery? Do you
just give up? Do you have reconstruction? Which type? So many decisions.
Insurance, do you have it? Does it run in the family? Can you children inherit
it?
My dear friend, Rosie Howell, is a local counselor with Breast Friends. She
was diagnosed with cancer two years ago....she is the best encourager anyone
could have. She is so happy and upbeat and makes you feel so special..This group
that meets every two weeks to help uplift and encourage others has made a
difference in many a life. Many times you will see one person at a meeting then
at the next you are told they have died. We all need encouragement from others
that have and are experiencing what cancer is really like. Check for a local
support group in your community. Thank you, Rosie!!
Dear friends please do your monthly checkup and remember that is only about
50% effective in finding a lump. They never found a lump in mine...it was too
deep to feel. The most important thing is have that mammogram!! Life is too
short as it is....catch it early and live!!
The Breast Cancer Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it
daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an
underprivileged woman.
It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "donating a
mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle). Their corporate
sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate a mammogram in
exchange for advertising. Here's the website! Pass it along to all your
friends!!
